Bhutan.

The Kingdom of Bhutan – known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon – lies east of Nepal and south of Tibet. Filled with incredible temples, stunning landscapes, and rich tapestry of Buddhist life, Bhutan is a dream destination for photographers. Tourism is restricted to just over 5,000 tourists annually…and those who do venture there are changed for life.

Landscapes, Temples, Mountains and Jungles

Are you looking to take your landscape and travel photography to the next level? This is the workshop you have been waiting for: Bhutan: Land of the Thunder Dragon!

We invite you to experience the ultimate workshop in shooting landscape and travel photography on location in Bhutan.

The Kingdom of Bhutan is located in the heart of the high Himalayan mountain range, between Tibet, the Indian territories of Assam and West Bengal to the south and east, and Sikkim to the west. The country begins in the Tibetan plateau, at heights of over 7,300 meters (23,9500 ft.), and extends southward losing height, ending in the fertile valleys of the Lesser Himalayas divided by the Wang, Sunkosh, Trongsa and Manas Rivers. Monsoon influences promote dense forestation in this region and alpine growth at higher altitudes, while the cultivated central uplands and Himalayan foothills support the majority of the population. In the south, the Daurs Plain drops sharply away from the Himalayas into the large tracts of semi-tropical forest, savannah grassland and bamboo jungle.

Cameras/Lighting

Each participant will have access to a Hasselblad camera system to use at various times throughout the workshop, and a complete range of lenses are available for any shooting situation or look you are wanting to capture. Profoto and Bron lighting systems will be available along with Profoto, Bron and Chimera modifiers to build world-class light sets on-location throughout the workshop environs, and Sunbounce systems for redirecting ambient light.
